The structural diagnostic for owner-operators

The Sentinel Mandate

A complete structural review of your business, delivered over six weeks, at contractual scope and a fixed fee. The Sentinel Mandate is the principal intervention of the firm: the diagnostic owner-operators begin with before any custom engagement. It names what to change. Acting on it is where our service practices operate alongside you.

Our principle
Our methodology is proven by our own operation before it is delivered to an outside client. That discipline is the principle that defines our practice.

What you receive

Over six weeks, the Sentinel Mandate produces nine distinct components: the structural review itself, four deliverables you keep, two working sessions, a qualified network introduction, and a contractual guarantee.

  1. 01Review
A complete structural review of your business across four critical dimensions.
  2. 02Deliverable
The Sentinel Report, delivered in print and digital form.
  3. 03Deliverable
An Owner's Note, written specifically for the principal of the business.
  4. 04Deliverable
A 90-day Execution Manual, written for the operating team responsible for implementation.
  5. 05Deliverable
A parameterizable financial dashboard for the finance function.
  6. 06Working session
A four-hour leadership workshop with your management team.
  7. 07Working session
Three follow-up sessions over ninety days, at days 30, 60 and 90.
  8. 08Network
A qualified introduction to a partner in the Mirabilys network.
  9. 09Guarantee
A contractual execution standard: if the methodology has not been applied to specification, the phase concerned is re-run at no additional cost.

The four dimensions

Our methodology analyzes four structural dimensions simultaneously. None is treated in isolation. The four are interdependent.

Cash without operations becomes accounting. Operations without growth becomes sterile optimization. Growth without team becomes organized exhaustion. Team without cash becomes idealism. The four hold together or nothing holds.

The journey

The Sentinel Mandate runs over six calendar weeks, structured in five phases.

PhasePeriodActivity
1. InitializationWeek 1A 90-minute framing call. Collection of financial and operational documents. Structured interviews with two key people on your team.
2. AnalysisWeeks 2 and 3In-depth analysis across the four dimensions. Sector benchmarking. Identification of quantified levers. Validation of hypotheses.
3. SynthesisWeek 4Writing of the Sentinel Report. Construction of the parameterizable dashboard. Preparation of the leadership workshop.
4. RestitutionWeek 5A four-hour leadership workshop with you and your team. A signed commitment on the three priorities.
5. TransitionWeek 6Finalization of the 90-day Execution Manual. Initiation of the first introduction to the Mirabilys network.

Phases 1 to 3 run in parallel with your current activity. You commit roughly three hours of your time during weeks 1 to 4 (framing, occasional exchanges, validation of hypotheses). The week 5 workshop mobilizes you and two to three key people for four hours.

The execution standard

Mirabilys Advisors commits contractually to the rigor of its methodology.

If a phase of the Sentinel Mandate has not been executed to the specifications described in the mandate, that phase is re-run at no additional cost. The re-run happens at the client’s request, supported by a finding of methodological non-conformity.

This standard does not cover the operational results the client obtains following the mandate. Mirabilys delivers a diagnostic, a framework for action, and accompaniment. Implementation rests with the client. The firm stands behind its rigor, not behind the outcome of the owner’s choices.

The methodological risk is carried by the firm. The operational risk remains in the hands of the owner. That division is the condition of a serious partnership between peers.

Who it's for

The Sentinel Mandate is built specifically for owners who fit the following profile.

Target profile
  • Run an SME generating between one and twenty million dollars in annual revenue.
  • Employ between five and ninety-nine people.
  • Are founder-owners or second-generation successors.
  • Make their strategic decisions alone or with a small number of people.
  • Have lived through a trigger event in the last six months: loss of a major client, banking pressure, stalled growth, departure of a key executive, an acquisition opportunity, or succession planning.
  • Are ready to make a serious investment to avoid an error that costs many times more.
Not the right fit
  • Businesses under one million in annual revenue.
  • Businesses over twenty million in annual revenue.
  • Owners seeking a formal accounting audit (a CPA engagement).
  • Owners seeking a permanent fractional finance director.
  • Businesses in acute distress with less than thirty days of cash.
  • Complex multi-level decision committees.

How to tell which applies to you: banking pressure here means tightening covenants, a nervous lender, or refinancing risk while the business still has runway. Under thirty days of cash is an acute liquidity situation that needs crisis stabilization first, not a six-week diagnostic.

Get started

The engagement begins with a 30-minute discovery call with a Mirabilys Advisors partner. No cost. No obligation.

During that call, we evaluate together whether your situation matches our methodology. If it does, you receive a contractual proposal within the following forty-eight hours. Signature of the contract and receipt of payment trigger the start of the mandate within seven days.

After the diagnostic

The Sentinel Mandate names what to change. When you decide to act on it, our five service practices are where we move from diagnosis to operating alongside you, from crisis stabilization to interim leadership.

Book a discovery call
01How long does the Sentinel Mandate take?
Six calendar weeks, structured in five phases. You commit roughly three hours of your time over weeks 1 to 4, then four hours for the restitution workshop in week 5.
02What exactly do I receive?
Nine distinct components: the structural review, four deliverables you keep (the Sentinel Report, an Owner's Note, a 90-day Execution Manual, and a financial dashboard), a four-hour leadership workshop, three follow-up sessions at days 30, 60 and 90, a qualified network introduction, and a contractual execution guarantee.
03Is my business big enough to justify a Sentinel Mandate?
The mandate is designed for North American SMEs generating between one and twenty million dollars in revenue. Below one million, the structure is generally not developed enough to justify the analysis. Above twenty million, different methodologies become more appropriate.
04What is the difference between the Sentinel Mandate and an accounting audit?
An accounting audit validates the conformity of your financial statements. The Sentinel Mandate is a structural diagnostic across cash, operations, growth and team, conducted by operators who have run and restructured businesses. The two are complementary, not substitutes.
05How much does the Sentinel Mandate cost?
The fee is fixed and contractual, identical for every client. The exact amount is shared during the complimentary 30-minute discovery call, with no obligation.
