Working with accounting firms

Your client knows the numbers.
Let's organize what comes next.

The findings are on the table. What remains is coordinating the decisions, the people and the work. Mirabilys can bring that operational support to your client.

A first conversation without identifying your client.

The starting point

A recommendation. Decisions to make. Someone to carry them.

When the issue goes beyond the numbers, we examine what needs to be organized inside the business to move forward.

When to think of Mirabilys

Situations you already recognize.

  1. 01

Sales are growing. The organization has to follow.

Orders are up, but purchasing, collections and delivery capacity are not yet coordinated.

  2. 02

The owner wants to delegate. Decisions still come back to them.

A team is in place. Responsibilities, approval limits and the handling of exceptions remain to be clarified.

  3. 03

A next step is taking shape. Someone has to frame it.

A new territory, a distributor or a major account engages several functions. The project needs priorities and owners.

A well-bounded intervention

Your expertise stays at the centre of the relationship.

Your firm

The accounting lens. The client knowledge.

You continue your engagement. Your findings and your knowledge of the business help define the need, within the information the client authorizes you to share.

Mirabilys

The organization of the work. The execution frame.

We examine the links between cash, operations, growth and team. The diagnostic sets the priorities. Operational involvement is a separate mandate.

Scope, contacts and follow-up arrangements are agreed before the intervention. Any exchange concerning the client happens with their consent.

A Mirabilys mandate

When the whole business has to move together.

Sector

Scope
An overhaul of the business as a whole
Frame
A real mandate, presented anonymously. The client's identity and the details of the intervention stay confidential.

Mirabilys carried out a complete-overhaul mandate for a company in the refrigeration sector.

The scope of that mandate is the essential point: an overhaul of the business as a whole. We present its nature here while keeping the client's identity and the details of the intervention confidential.

Our reading of an overhaul

The decisions have to be able to meet.

A commercial decision commits delivery. A hire commits responsibilities. A new priority draws on cash and time. Rethinking a business means bringing those choices into coherence, then determining who carries their execution.

Make the choices explicit.

What the business wants to develop, what it can sustain, and what must be organized before the next commitment. A direction becomes useful when the team can use it to decide.

Give responsibilities real reach.

Define the decisions each person can make, the information they have, and the situations that return to the owner. Delegation has to work in the daily work.

Connect priorities to the work.

A priority calls for an owner, resources, and a way of tracking progress. That passage into execution is what must be prepared when a business rethinks how it runs.

For the firm supporting the owner

Your findings can become the starting point for broader work.

When recommendations touch several functions and their implementation remains to be organized, a conversation with Mirabilys can help define the need. You bring your knowledge of the client. We examine with you the scope of an intervention and how it fits with your engagement.

The first conversation can start without naming the business. Describing what has to move forward is enough.

From first conversation to mandate

Start with the situation.

A first conversation examines whether our involvement is relevant before any introduction to your client.

Understand the Sentinel Mandate
  1. 01

    You describe the need.

The sector, the approximate size and what has to move forward are enough. No client name and no confidential documents at this stage.

  2. 02

    We examine the entry point.

We discuss the need with you, the limits of our involvement, and whether a meeting with the owner makes sense.

  3. 03

    The client decides what follows.

With their agreement, we define the scope and responsibilities together. Any paid intervention is preceded by a written proposal.

Before introducing us

A few clarifications.

01Do I need to identify my client to begin?
No. The first conversation works from an anonymous situation: the sector, the approximate size, and what has to move forward. The client's identity only enters if the owner decides on a meeting.
02Does the Sentinel Mandate include execution?
No. The Sentinel Mandate is a fixed-fee diagnostic: six weeks, nine components, identical for every client. It sets priorities and responsibilities. Operational involvement, where relevant, is a separate mandate preceded by a written proposal.
03How are fees presented?
The Sentinel Mandate fee is fixed and identical for every client. It is shared on the discovery call, directly with the owner. Any paid intervention beyond it is preceded by a written proposal.
04Which businesses do you work with?
Owner-led businesses of roughly 1 to 20 M$ in revenue, in Canada and the United States, where the owner is active in operations. The sector matters less than the situation: what has to move forward, and who has to carry it.
